The brief

New owners wanted to keep the house’s character but make it safe, efficient and suited to a family of five.

What we did

  • Full rewire and replumb

  • Dense-pack insulation

  • Restored original trim and doors

  • New kitchen and two bathrooms

  • Heat pump system

Materials and finishes

  • Restored fir trim

  • New oak flooring woven into original

  • Soapstone kitchen counters

  • Hexagon tile in both baths

What made it tricky

Knob-and-tube wiring and a sagging beam were found during demo. Both were priced and approved in writing before work continued.
